RocketReach vs Supered Prospector One database by the seat, or your Clay tables for every rep.

RocketReach sells its own contact database with a published price: a seat looks people up freely and exports 1,200, 3,600 or 20,000 contacts a year, depending on the plan. Prospector sells no database. It puts the Clay tables your GTM engineer already built in every rep's hands, on LinkedIn, on company sites and in the CRM record, for $45 per rep per month. If you are one seller or a small team with no Clay, buy RocketReach. If you run Clay, Clay plus Prospector is the better way for a sales team to prospect: GTM engineers build in Clay, reps never open Clay.

01 Supered Prospector Sales teams already on Clay who want every rep running the tables from where they prospect, a one-click CRM sync, and each list tracked found, worked and closed. $45 per rep per month, billed annually, from 1 rep.
02 RocketReach A founder, a recruiter or a small team with no Clay who wants a self-serve lookup tool with a list price, from $399 a seat a year for emails or $899 with phones.
03 Apollo Small teams with no Clay who want a database, an extension and sequences in one self-serve plan, from $49 per user per month billed annually.

Status check

What is RocketReach selling in October 2026?Unlimited lookups, metered exports.

RocketReach's pricing page lists three individual plans on annual billing: Essentials at $33 a month ("$399 billed annually"), email only, with 1,200 exports a year; Pro at $75 a month ("$899 billed annually"), email and phone, 3,600 exports; and Ultimate at $142 a month ("$1,699 billed annually"), 20,000 exports. All three list "MCP & API access," and Pro and Ultimate add "Salesforce, Outreach, Hubspot, Salesloft, and Bullhorn integrations." Team plans sit above that: "Plans start at $6K annually" (rocketreach.co/pricing, checked 2 October 2026).

The meter is the export, not the search. On annual plans lookups are unlimited, and the FAQ says "A lookup is used if we find and verify email or phone, otherwise it is refunded." An export is what moves a contact out, to a CSV or to a CRM. So a RocketReach seat can read the whole shelf and carry out a fixed number of contacts a year. A free account gets "5 free lookups with no credit card required." Vendr's RocketReach page puts the median buyer at $6,750 a year, with a range from $1,800 to $13,340 (Vendr, checked 2 October 2026).

Corporately, nothing has moved. RocketReach has been majority-owned by Brighton Park Capital since August 2020, and a news search on 2 October 2026 found no acquisition, funding round or rebrand this year. It announced its SOC 2 Type II audit and ISO 27001 recertification on 30 September 2025 (PR Newswire). One more fact matters for teams on Clay: Clay lists RocketReach in its data-provider directory (clay.com). The choice is never "RocketReach data or Clay data." It is which front door your reps use.

Grades, by job

How we graded: by the job, because the two products do different ones. Lane one is one seller or a small team with no Clay that wants to look up contacts. Lane two is a sales team on Clay that wants every rep running the tables. Weights in both lanes: contact coverage the rep can reach (35%), where the rep works and the CRM sync (25%), what a leader sees about each list afterwards (20%), price and contract for the buyer in that lane (20%).

Fair to them first

What is RocketReach best at?A price you can read, and a lookup that just works.

For one person who needs to reach people, RocketReach is one of the easiest buys in the category. The price is on the page, the email plan costs $399 a year, a free account gets 5 lookups without a card, and a lookup that finds nothing verified is refunded. You can cancel from the account page. Few database vendors make it that simple to try, buy and leave.

Its G2 reviewers agree on the strengths. The most-cited pros on its G2 page are "Accurate and direct contact information" (273 reviews) and "Ease of use" (266), and the overall rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 1,385 reviews. The Chrome extension holds 4.2 out of 5 from 459 ratings. Pro adds phones, org charts and CRM sync, and the Bullhorn integration makes it a common pick for recruiters, a buyer most sales tools ignore.

The trade-offs are the ones a growing sales team runs into. The same G2 page lists "Outdated contacts" (110 reviews) and "Missing emails" (69) among the cons, which is what you would expect from any single database. On Trustpilot RocketReach scores 1.2 out of 5, and Trustpilot's own summary of recent reviews says customers "frequently experienced unexpected charges for annual subscriptions due to automatic renewals" (Trustpilot, checked 2 October 2026); many of those reviewers are people who found their own details listed, not buyers. Our RocketReach review goes through that evidence in full.

Why buyers compare

Why are RocketReach teams looking at Clay and Prospector? The cap sits on the way out.

The question is rarely whether RocketReach works for one person. It is whether a seat per rep and an export cap still fit once a GTM engineer is building in Clay.

Prospector, for teams on Clay

What does Prospector do that a RocketReach seat does not?You build it. Reps run it. Everyone sees it work.

Prospector is the rep side of Clay. Your GTM engineer builds the tables once, person enrichment, the buying committee for an account, the new-logo list for a campaign, and each becomes a flow a rep picks from a Push menu. A rep on a LinkedIn profile, a company's website or a HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive record presses one button, and your Clay table runs on your own Clay account. In Sales Navigator, reps add leads to a prospect list and push the list to a Clay table. Your logic stays yours: waterfalls, tiers, tags and sequence variables. The engineer stops being the list desk.

Before anything syncs, the rep sees whether the person already has a CRM record, who owns it, and whether they were prospected before, so two reps do not work the same buyer. One more click sends the contact to HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive with the field mapping Ops set once. The plays are the ones a sales team runs every week: research an account, new logos, expansion inside customers, job changers, and adding the economic buyer to a stalled opportunity before the forecast call.

Then the part an export count does not show. A sales leader sees every list found, worked and closed, rep by rep, and every lead ends the way your process says: Qualified, Recycled or Disqualified. When a leader can see what the tables produced, the Clay budget grows. The full loop is on the sourcing use case, and the rep's view is on Prospector for reps.

Prospector costs $45 per rep per month, billed annually, which is $540 a rep a year, and you can buy it for one rep. It runs on the Clay plan and credits you already pay for. There is no free trial yet. It starts with a demo on your own Clay account, and the details are on the Prospector page.

Choose something else when the job looks like this
  • No Clay and no one to build in it. Prospector runs only on Clay. A founder or a two-person team without a GTM engineer gets more from a RocketReach seat, or from Apollo if they want sequences too.
  • Recruiting. If the job is sourcing candidates into Bullhorn, RocketReach integrates with it on Pro and Ultimate. Prospector is built for sales teams working a CRM.
  • A handful of lookups a month. If you need a few emails a month, RocketReach's free account or Essentials plan is the cheaper answer.

The verdict

RocketReach vs Prospector: which should you choose?Decide by whether you run Clay.

If you are one seller, a recruiter or a small team with no Clay, RocketReach is the best pick: a published price, a free start and a lookup that works on day one. If you run Clay, Prospector is the best pick: Clay plus Supered is the best way for a sales team to prospect, because GTM engineers build in Clay and reps never open it.

Choose RocketReach if
  • You have no Clay and no builder. A seat looks people up on day one, from $399 a year.
  • Your volume fits the cap. 1,200, 3,600 or 20,000 exports a year per seat covers what you send out.
  • You recruit as well as sell. Bullhorn sits next to Salesforce and HubSpot in its integrations.
Choose Prospector if
  • You already run Clay. Every rep runs your tables from LinkedIn, company sites and the CRM record, with no Clay login and no database seat.
  • You want lists you can follow. Found, worked and closed for each list, rep by rep, with no duplicate work.
  • You want one price for the rep side. $45 per rep per month, billed annually, from 1 rep, on the Clay you already pay for.

You do not have to pick a side of the data. Clay lists RocketReach in its provider directory, so a team that likes RocketReach's results can ask Clay about running it as one step in the waterfall, and Prospector puts that waterfall in front of every rep.

Why trust this page

Why trust a comparison written by Supered?Weigh it, then check the sources.

We sell one of the two products on this page, so weigh what follows. Every RocketReach fact links to its source and carries the date we checked it, 2 October 2026, and where RocketReach is the better buy we say so in the grades and the verdict. When RocketReach changes its prices or its caps, this page changes with it.

Supered is the #1 sales enablement app on the HubSpot marketplace and a HubSpot Premier Tech Partner, with 6,000+ installs. It holds 5.0 from 122 reviews on the HubSpot marketplace and 4.9 out of 5 from 81 reviews on G2. Those reviews cover Supered as a whole. Prospector is the newest product and runs inside the Supered Chrome extension, so judge it in a demo on your own Clay account.

The questions

RocketReach and Prospector, the buying questions.

Is Supered Prospector a RocketReach alternative?

For sales teams on Clay, yes. Prospector brings no database of its own: it runs your Clay tables, Clay's waterfall across 200+ providers, from LinkedIn profiles, Sales Navigator, company websites and HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive records, then syncs to the CRM in one click. For one seller or a small team with no Clay, it is not a substitute; RocketReach or Apollo is.

How much does RocketReach cost compared with Prospector?

On 2 October 2026, RocketReach's pricing page lists Essentials at $399 a year (1,200 exports), Pro at $899 (3,600 exports) and Ultimate at $1,699 (20,000 exports) per seat on annual billing, with team plans from $6,000 a year. Prospector costs $45 per rep per month, billed annually, from 1 rep, and runs on the Clay plan and credits you already have.

What is the difference between a RocketReach lookup and an export?

A lookup finds and verifies an email or phone inside RocketReach; on annual plans lookups are unlimited, and a lookup that finds nothing verified is refunded. An export moves the contact out of RocketReach, to a CSV or a CRM, and exports are capped per seat at 1,200, 3,600 or 20,000 a year by plan.

Do reps need a Clay login or a RocketReach seat to use Prospector?

Neither. Prospector runs on your company's Clay account and Clay credits, so the team needs Clay, but reps never log into it. They press a button inside the Supered Chrome extension where they already prospect.

Does Prospector scrape LinkedIn?

Prospector works within LinkedIn's terms and does not copy search results in bulk; the contact data comes from Clay's waterfall on the customer's Clay account. In Sales Navigator, reps add leads to a prospect list and push the list to a Clay table.

Which CRMs does Prospector work with?

HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive. Ops sets the field mapping once, reps sync in one click, and before they do, they see the matching CRM record and whether the person was worked before.
