Prospector vs UpLead is a choice between one source and many.
UpLead sells its own B2B database by the credit: one credit unlocks one contact with an email and a mobile direct dial, Essentials is $74 a month on annual billing for 2,040 contacts a year, and emails carry a 95% accuracy guarantee at the moment of download. Supered Prospector is the UpLead alternative for teams that already run Clay: a rep on a Sales Navigator lead, a company site or the CRM record runs your Clay table, Clay's waterfall asks 200+ vendors with no charge for a miss, and the contact goes to HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive in one click, for $45 per rep per month, billed annually, plus your Clay plan. Without Clay, UpLead is the simpler buy.
G2 on 3 October 2026: UpLead 4.7 out of 5 from 831 reviews; Supered 4.9 out of 5 from 81 reviews. Trustpilot: UpLead 4.2 from 88 reviews. HubSpot marketplace: Supered 5.0 from 122 reviews (1 October 2026).
A 3 October 2026 news search found no acquisition, funding round or rebrand for UpLead this year. Its pricing page still runs a banner reading "Black Friday → 40% OFF Annual Plans · Chat to get the discount," with no published terms, so this page uses the list prices on the plan cards (uplead.com/pricing).
A naming note: UpLead's own navigation lists a product it calls Prospector, plus a Prospector Pro API. This page compares UpLead as a whole with Supered Prospector, which runs inside the Supered Chrome extension.
For a Clay team the bigger fact is placement. Clay's integration directory had no UpLead page when we checked (the address returned "not found," while the PhantomBuster page at the same path loaded). So a team on Clay cannot add UpLead as a step in Clay's waterfall from that directory today; it buys UpLead as a separate contract beside Clay.
| UpLead | Supered Prospector | |
|---|---|---|
| Job it is built for | Search UpLead's own database by filters, spend a credit to reveal each contact, export to a CSV or the CRM, and enrich records on Plus and up. | Run your team's Clay table from where the rep already prospects, check the CRM, sync the contact, then follow each list rep by rep. |
| Custom enrichment and campaigns | UpLead's own database. No custom Clay tables or campaigns from its extension. | Your own Clay tables and custom campaigns. Ops pairs a Clay table with a destination (the CRM or a sequence) once, and reps pick the campaign from the Push menu on LinkedIn, a company site or the CRM record. Your waterfalls, tiers and tags stay yours. |
| Leads worked to your standard | Not offered. Reporting covers usage, credits or activity, not whether each lead was worked the way you want. | Yes. Supered checks every lead a rep adds against your standard and shows each list as sourced, worked and closed, rep by rep, so you see whether leads are worked the way you want. |
| Where the data comes from | One database: UpLead claims 200M+ B2B contacts with emails and 19M company profiles, verified "at the moment of download or export." | Clay's waterfall across 200+ data and AI vendors on your own Clay account, in the order your GTM engineer set. |
| Where reps use it | UpLead's web app, plus a Chrome extension on LinkedIn profiles and company websites. | Inside the Supered Chrome extension: Sales Navigator and LinkedIn profiles, a company's website, and a HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive record. |
| Cost of a contact | "One credit = one contact," email and mobile direct dial together. About 44 cents a contact on Essentials annual, 58 cents on Essentials monthly. Enrichment refunds the credit when no match is found. | Clay's Data Credits on your plan, and "If an enrichment returns no result, you're not charged Data Credits or Actions." |
| CRMs | Export from Essentials up to Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Close and more; bi-directional CRM sync on Professional only. | HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive, as a place to start and as the sync target, with field mapping set once by Ops. |
| Pricing | 7-day trial with 5 credits. Essentials $99 a month (170 credits) or $74 billed annually (2,040 a year); Plus $199 (400) or $149 (4,800 a year); Professional custom, annual only. | $45 per rep per month, billed annually ($540 a year), from 1 rep, plus your Clay plan. Demo first, no free trial yet. |
| Seats | "Free, Essentials, and Plus are Single User accounts." Team seat management is on Professional. | Per rep, from 1 rep, no seat minimum. Your Clay plan's credits are shared by the team. |
| Security | See UpLead's own security or trust page. | SOC 2 Type II (audited, zero exceptions), GDPR compliant, and SSO. Reports in the Supered Trust Center at trust.supered.io. |
| G2 | 4.7 out of 5 from 831 reviews. | Supered: 4.9 out of 5 from 81 reviews. Prospector is new and has no reviews of its own yet. |

How we graded: for a team on Clay, from one rep to a whole floor, that wants enrichment without asking ops and leads that get worked. Weights: easy enrichment from the page the rep is already on (30%), your own Clay tables and custom campaigns (20%), CRM check and one-click sync (15%), leads worked to your standard (15%), published price and setup (20%). Where UpLead is the better pick for a different job, the verdict below says so.
| Tool | Lane | Grade | Rank | Why it ranks here |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Supered Prospector | Team on Clay | A | 1 | Built for this, from one rep up: easy enrichment from LinkedIn, a company site or the CRM record through Clay's 200+ vendor waterfall, your own Clay tables and custom campaigns from one Push menu, an owner and past-prospecting check before a one-click sync, and every lead worked to your standard. Published price per rep. |
| UpLead | Team on Clay | B- | 2 | Clean credit rules and a dated accuracy promise, but one database beside the 200+ you already reach, single-user accounts below Professional, and no page in Clay's directory. |
UpLead's meter is the easiest in the category to read. "A credit unlocks a contact for download or CRM export and gives you access to their email and mobile direct dial. One credit = one contact." There is no separate phone price, and enrichment refunds the credit "If a contact is not matched." Monthly plans carry "no contract or long-term commitment," a solo seller can buy Essentials at $99 for 170 contacts, and the extension works on LinkedIn profiles and company websites.
It also puts a number on its quality and says what the number covers. Emails marked Valid are "97%+ verified at the moment of download or export," and UpLead's own help center explains that its 95% claim "is a measure of data quality at point of verification. It does not guarantee zero bounces when you send email." Users rate it highly: 4.7 out of 5 from 831 reviews on G2 and 4.2 from 88 on Trustpilot. Plus adds technographics and enrichment; Professional adds buyer intent and bi-directional CRM sync.
UpLead is one well-run library with a clear borrowing card: one card, one book, and the librarian checks the book is in good shape as you walk out. Clay is the interlibrary loan desk, with 200+ libraries behind the counter and no fee when none of them has the title. Prospector puts that desk on the rep's screen. If one library carries the books your team reads and nobody on staff runs the loan desk, UpLead is the better build.
UpLead's ratings are high. The reasons to look around come from seats, coverage and how the plans are sold.
A rep on a Sales Navigator lead, a company's website or a HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive record presses one button and your Clay table runs. Clay's waterfall asks provider after provider across 200+ data and AI vendors (Clay's count on clay.com/pricing) until one returns a verified email or phone, and "If an enrichment returns no result, you're not charged Data Credits or Actions." Before anything syncs, the rep sees whether the person already has a CRM record and whether they were worked before. One more click sends the contact to the CRM with the field mapping Ops set once. Reps never log into Clay.
On a company's website, the buying-committee lookup takes your own titles, departments and seniority and pulls the people your team sells to. A rep can add leads to a prospect list and push the whole list into a Clay workflow your GTM engineer built, so the logic in your tables carries straight to the rep.
A sales leader then sees each rep-built list as found, worked and closed, and who added what, with no duplicate work across reps. Your process applies to the prospects reps work. The full loop is on the sourcing use case.
The money, for ten reps. Ten UpLead Essentials accounts on annual billing are $8,880 a year for 20,400 contacts. Prospector is $5,400 a year, 39% less per seat, and with Clay Growth at $446 a month on annual billing ($5,352, clay.com/pricing, 3 October 2026) the stack is $10,752. For a team without Clay, UpLead Essentials is the cheaper bill. For a team already paying for Clay, Prospector adds $5,400 and uses the credits you already buy. There is no free trial yet. It starts with a 30-minute demo on your own Clay account, implementation is included and takes under a week, and the details are on the Prospector page.
A 30-minute demo on your own Clay account, on HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive. Bring a list UpLead could not fill.
For any team on Clay, from one rep up, Prospector is the best pick: easy enrichment from the page the rep is already on, your own Clay tables and custom campaigns, a CRM check and one-click sync, and every lead worked to your standard. If you sell alone or in a team of two or three, have no Clay account and want a posted price with one credit per contact, UpLead is the best pick. If your team already runs Clay and wants reps to pull from 200+ vendors in Sales Navigator, on company sites and in the CRM record, then sync in one click, Prospector is the best pick.
A team can keep an UpLead seat for a researcher who builds account lists by technographic filter, and give its reps Prospector for the people on the page in front of them. The two rarely fight over the same contact.
We sell one of the two products on this page, so weigh what follows. Each UpLead fact links to UpLead's own pages or a review site and carries the date we checked it, 3 October 2026. Supered has no contact database of its own, so we gain nothing from which database you buy; Prospector runs on Clay. When UpLead changes its plans, this page changes with it.
Supered started inside RevPartners, the HubSpot partner Matt Bolian founded, which sold roughly twice as much Sales Hub as any other partner and reached HubSpot's Elite tier in 13 months. Supered is the #1 sales enablement app on the HubSpot marketplace and a HubSpot Premier Tech Partner, with 6,000+ installs. It holds 5.0 from 122 reviews on the HubSpot marketplace and 4.9 out of 5 from 81 reviews on G2. Those reviews cover Supered as a whole. Prospector is the newest product, so judge it in a demo on your own Clay account.
Contacts UpLead exported to your CRM stay there, so the move is about the next list and what happens to unused credits.
Plans and credit rules in full are on UpLead pricing, and what the 95% guarantee measures is on the UpLead review.
Supered Prospector. It runs your Clay tables from Sales Navigator, company websites and the HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive record, so reps get Clay's waterfall across 200+ vendors with no charge for a miss, check the CRM before a sync and push in one click. It costs $45 per rep per month, billed annually, plus your Clay plan.
On 3 October 2026 UpLead listed Essentials at $99 a month for 170 credits or $74 billed annually for 2,040 a year, Plus at $199 for 400 or $149 billed annually for 4,800, and a custom Professional plan, annual only. Essentials and Plus are single-user accounts. Prospector is $45 per rep per month, billed annually, plus your Clay plan. For ten reps, ten Essentials accounts are $8,880 a year and Prospector with Clay Growth at $446 a month is $10,752.
Clay's integration directory had no UpLead page when we, so a Clay team buys UpLead as a separate contract and runs it outside Clay's waterfall. Prospector runs on Clay, which reaches 200+ data and AI vendors from one account.
No. UpLead sells a product it calls Prospector, and a Prospector Pro API. Supered Prospector runs inside the Supered Chrome extension on your own Clay account and has no database of its own.
UpLead's help center says its 95% figure "is a measure of data quality at point of verification. It does not guarantee zero bounces when you send email," because addresses "can become invalid afterwards." Emails marked Valid are "97%+ verified at the moment of download or export."
Ask every vendor what it reads from LinkedIn, ours included. UpLead's extension shows verified contact data from its own database while you visit a LinkedIn profile or a company website. In Prospector, the contact data comes from Clay's waterfall on your own Clay account.
