Head-to-head · Supered vs Guru

One verifies the answer. One checks the work. Supered vs Guru: which job is yours?

Supered vs Guru is a choice between two jobs. Guru keeps company knowledge verified and permission-aware and serves it to people and AI agents wherever they ask; it is the better pick when your answers are scattered, stale or contradictory. Supered turns your sales process into Process Rules, checks each open HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive deal against them every night, and shows who followed them; it is the better pick when reps know the answer and skip the step. Teams with both problems can run both.

Pick Guru Answers are scattered or stale Verified cards with expert owners, a browser extension and Slack app, and knowledge pushed to AI agents over MCP, company-wide.
Pick Supered Reps know the answer and skip the step Process Rules checked on each open HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive deal every night, a Process Board per team, and Cards that fire on the record. From $40/user/mo.
Run both You have both problems Guru as the company's verified source, Supered as the sales process check inside the CRM. They answer different questions.

G2, checked 2026-10-01. Guru's rating rests on about 29 times as many reviews as ours, which makes it the steadier number.

01 · Head-to-head

Supered vs Guru: what is the difference? Guru answers the question. Supered checks the step got taken.

Guru, first

Start with what Guru does well, because it does one hard thing better than anyone on this page. Guru keeps knowledge trustworthy. Cards have expert owners who re-verify them on a schedule, stale cards get flagged, and answers respect permissions, so a rep and a support agent can ask the same question and each get what they are allowed to see. Guru now calls itself an AI Source of Truth, and in a June 2026 post it wrote, "Your source of truth is no longer passive. It doesn't simply wait to be searched."

That post describes knowledge pushed into "the systems and AI agents your teams rely on" through APIs and the Model Context Protocol, and Guru is a launch partner for Slack's real-time search API and MCP server. Its integrations page lists Salesforce, HubSpot and hundreds more as sources it can search, with a browser extension that answers inside them. Guru is independent, based in Philadelphia and led by co-founder Rick Nucci, with no merger or acquisition found in a news check on 2026-10-01. It holds 4.7 out of 5 on G2 across 2,323 reviews.

Supered

Supered starts from a different complaint: the answer exists, verified and current, and the rep still skips the step. In The State of Sales Enablement 2026, 89% of teams had a defined sales process and 36% saw reps follow it. Supered keeps that process as Process Rules (a deal past Discovery with no amount, a meeting with no recap after a day, a close date in the past), checks each open HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive deal against them every night, and lists what is broken on a Process Board, rep by rep.

Supered has its own knowledge layer, Bases and Cards with screen-recorded Guides, but the Cards fire on the record's state without the rep asking. Reps clear the board in the CRM or by asking Claude to do the work through Supered's MCP. The full workflow is on the sales expectations page.

Supered vs Guru across three jobs: Guru verifies knowledge and serves it where people and AI agents ask; Supered fires Cards on the CRM record and checks each open deal against your Process Rules every night.
Guru leads the first column, with verified cards and expert owners, and delivers answers where people ask. Its analytics cover card views and trust scores. Supered's third column checks each open deal against your rules every night. Each A is for the tool's own lane.
02 · Why teams compare

Why do teams compare Guru and Supered? An answer helps the rep who thinks to ask.

A verified answer is a dictionary with a date stamped on every page: you can trust whatever you look up. A Process Rule is closer to a spell-checker. It underlines the mistake in the document you are writing, without being asked, and keeps count. Teams compare Guru and Supered when they discover that a trustworthy dictionary did not stop the misspellings.

The dictionary is the right purchase when your team cannot agree on how to spell the word. Guru is a good dictionary, maybe the best on the market at keeping its own pages current. Supered is the spell-checker running inside HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive, with a nightly report of which deals still carry a red underline.

Rank for this page's job21

How we graded. We split the work into three jobs: writing the process down, reaching the rep while they work, and checking that it happened. Each tool gets the grade it earns in the lane it was built for, so Guru takes an A for verified answers and Supered an A for process compliance. The rank answers the job this page is about, getting a sales team to follow the process and showing who did, weighted 40% to the check, 40% to reaching the rep at work and 20% to authoring. Move the weight to verification and company-wide knowledge and Guru ranks first.

04 · The verdict

Should you choose Guru or Supered? Pick by the problem you have today.

If your problem is conflicting, stale answers spread across Slack, docs and wikis, Guru is the best pick. We are the best pick if your problem is reps who have the answer and skip the step, and managers who cannot see which deals broke the process.

Choose Guru for
  • Six versions of the same answer. Guru's verification workflow, with expert owners and a re-verify schedule, is the cure for stale and contradictory knowledge.
  • Knowledge for the whole company. Support, success, HR and sales asking questions in Slack and the browser. Guru is built company-wide; Supered is built for revenue teams in the CRM.
  • AI agents that need permission-aware answers. Guru pushes verified knowledge into agents and systems over APIs and MCP, and respects who is allowed to see what.
  • Search across many sources. Guru connects hundreds of apps as sources, so one question searches all of them.
Choose Supered for
  • A following problem. The answers are fine and reps still skip discovery, recaps and real close dates, the same gap behind our research's 89% of teams with a process and 36% who see it followed.
  • Inspection without the manager's evenings. In The State of Sales Enablement 2026, teams that inspect deals against a defined process at the highest frequency hit quota at 6.3x the rate of the lowest band. Supered runs that inspection every night so managers spend the hour coaching.
  • HubSpot, or HubSpot and Salesforce. Supered began inside a HubSpot partner, is the #1 sales enablement app on the HubSpot marketplace, and runs the same rules in Salesforce.
  • A price you can see. Process Compliance is $40/user/mo paid yearly, with Digital Adoption included. Start a free trial without a card.

Running both. Running both works when you have both problems. Keep Guru as the verified source for the whole company, and use Supered inside HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive for the sales process: the rules, the Cards that fire on the record, and the nightly check. Link Supered Cards to Guru where the long answer already lives, so it stays maintained in one place.

Choose something else for
  • Field or mobile-first teams. Supered has no mobile product. It fits teams of 10+ users who work at a computer.
  • Enablement content in the flow, with learning paths. If the job is sales content and coaching delivered in the apps reps use, compare Supered vs Spekit, and see the wider field in Guru alternatives.

05 · Proof

Why trust a Supered page about Guru? We are biased, so check our work.

We make one of the two products on this page, so weigh it accordingly, and check the sources at the bottom. What we can offer is a long look at the problem. Supered began inside RevPartners, the HubSpot partner Matt Bolian founded, which sold roughly twice as much Sales Hub as any other partner and reached HubSpot's top partner level in 13 months. Supered grew out of that sales-implementation work.

Today Supered is the #1 sales enablement app on the HubSpot marketplace, with a 5.0 rating from 122 reviews and 6,000 installs, a HubSpot Premier Tech Partner, and SOC 2 Type II. On G2 it holds 4.9 out of 5 across 81 reviews (checked 2026-10-01), a far smaller base than Guru's 2,323.

"Instead of relying on reps to remember steps or managers to constantly chase updates, Supered embeds the process directly into the workflow."

Heidi B. · Partner/Owner, G2 review

"Supered solves the problem of scattered knowledge and inconsistent execution. Before using it, information lived across documents, Slack threads, and people’s heads."

Katie H. · Chief Operations Officer, G2 review

"Instead of more training sessions or documentation, users get guidance directly where they work."

06 · Questions

Supered vs Guru, asked plainly.

The buying questions we hear on demos, with direct answers.

The comparison
What is the difference between Supered and Guru?

Guru keeps company knowledge verified and permission-aware and serves it to people and AI agents through a browser extension, Slack and MCP. Supered keeps your sales process as Process Rules, checks each open HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive deal against them every night, and shows managers who followed the process. Guru answers the question; Supered checks the step got taken.

Is Supered a Guru alternative?

For sales teams whose answers are already good and whose problem is follow-through in the CRM, yes. For company-wide verified knowledge across support, HR and sales, Guru is the stronger tool, and the closer alternatives are in our Guru alternatives guide.

Can you use Guru and Supered together?

Yes. Keep Guru as the verified source for the whole company and use Supered for the sales process inside HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive. Supered Cards can link to the Guru card where the long answer lives, so it is maintained once.

Pricing and setup
How much does Guru cost compared to Supered?

Guru does not publish per-seat prices; its pricing page says the investment is tailored to your organization's scale, knowledge complexity and AI maturity, and includes solution engineers and knowledge architecture design (checked 2026-10-01). Supered Process Compliance is $40 per user per month paid yearly, or $45 paid monthly, with a 5-user minimum, and includes Digital Adoption, which costs $13.50 per user per month paid yearly on its own.

How long does Supered take to set up?

Most customers go live in under a week, sometimes in a day. You can start a free trial without a card, and a preferred HubSpot partner or Supered's team can help you turn your process into rules.

Do Guru and Supered work with HubSpot and Salesforce?

Guru lists HubSpot and Salesforce as sources it can search, with its browser extension answering inside them (checked 2026-10-01). Supered runs natively in both, with Process Rules evaluated against the CRM records themselves.

AI and agents
Do Guru and Supered work with Claude and other AI assistants?

Both connect over MCP. Guru pushes verified, permission-aware knowledge to AI agents and systems. Supered lets Claude and other MCP-ready LLMs read your Process Rules and do the work they call for: update fields, move tasks, and draft emails for the rep to review. Same rules in the CRM or in your LLM of choice.

Will AI make a knowledge base unnecessary?

AI makes knowledge cheap to find, and it makes verified knowledge more valuable, which is the bet Guru is making. What AI does not decide is which steps your team owes each deal. Supered keeps those steps as rules your team writes, so an assistant can follow them and a manager can see that it did.

Fit and status
Is Guru still an independent company?

Yes, as of 2026-10-01. Guru is independent and based in Philadelphia, led by co-founder and CEO Rick Nucci. In 2026 it repositioned as an AI Source of Truth, shipped knowledge sharing to AI agents over MCP, and became a launch partner for Slack's real-time search API. We found no merger or acquisition in a news check on the date above.

Who should not buy Supered?

Field or mobile-first teams, because Supered has no mobile product, and companies whose main need is one verified knowledge base for every department. Supered fits teams of 10+ users on HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive who work at a computer and need the sales process followed.
